For the Venezia League, a community football tournament by ASD Santelena Venezia, Solia created ten captain’s armbands, one per team, using details extracted from his previously exhibited paintings.
Each armband becomes a small visual collage, turning a sporting object into a fragment of the city’s artistic memory. The final award ceremony was held inside Teatro La Fenice, Venice.
Per la Venezia League, torneo di calcio comunitario dell’ASD Santelena Venezia, Solia ha realizzato dieci fasce da capitano, una per squadra, usando dettagli estratti da suoi dipinti già esposti.
Ogni fascia diventa un piccolo collage visivo, trasformando un oggetto sportivo in un frammento di memoria artistica della città. La premiazione finale si è tenuta all’interno del Teatro La Fenice di Venezia.
为威尼斯联赛（ASD Santelena Venezia 举办的社区足球赛），Solia 创作了十条队长袖标，每队一条，取材自他此前展出画作中的细节。每条袖标都成为一件微型视觉拼贴，将运动物品转化为城市艺术记忆的碎片。

The Venezia League was born from the idea that sport can be a language, a place where the city tells its own story. For this edition we invited Leone Solia to translate that spirit into visual form. Leone created ten captain's armbands, one for each team, using details drawn from his previously exhibited paintings.
The armbands thus become small visual collages that turn a sporting object into a fragment of the city's artistic memory, weaving together images, textures and layered materials.
Solia's research, centred on reuse, on the transformation of materials and on a dialogue between the sacred, matter and community, is reflected in this collaboration, which brings contemporary art directly onto the League's pitches. We are glad to share this encounter between creativity and sport, two languages that animate and unite Venice every day.
La Venezia League nasce dall’idea che lo sport possa essere un linguaggio, un luogo dove la città si racconta. Per questa edizione abbiamo invitato Leone Solia a tradurre questo spirito in forma visiva. Leone ha realizzato dieci fasce da capitano, una per ogni squadra, utilizzando particolari estratti da suoi dipinti precedentemente esposti.
Le fasce diventano così piccoli collage visivi che trasformano un oggetto sportivo in un frammento di memoria artistica della città, intrecciando immagini, texture e stratificazioni materiche.
La ricerca di Solia, incentrata sul riuso, sulla trasformazione dei materiali e su un dialogo tra sacralità, materia e comunità, si riflette in questa collaborazione che porta l’arte contemporanea direttamente sui campi della League. Siamo felici di condividere questo incontro tra creatività e sport, due linguaggi che animano e uniscono Venezia ogni giorno.
